Vetro Herringbone F08 came to life…
Challenge & Objective
Troublesome or awkward jobs in the glass processing trade come about more often than any CNC operator would like. The latest challenge we were faced with from a client of ours is the ‘burning’ of the arris on processed glass through his CNC machine. We have heard of this problem from a few of our customers lately and so decided to put our R&D department to action. The aim, to create a diamond wheel to solve this problem and also to alleviate the problem of clogging up the diamond wheel when working with laminated glass.
Planning & Technical Drawing
With some innovation, our experience and workshop facilities we produced a design we call Herringbone F08. Simply put, we have increased the amount of slots sparked into the diamond wheel to 8, in a herringbone pattern across the flat and Arris profile, at the tested angle to remove the waste material. This idea was then drawn up and sent down to our workshop to produce a sample wheel.
Solution & Outcome
The prototype wheel has been put through it’s paces and our final iteration has been tested with success! We now offer this as a standard product for glass with much lamination.
